I am a lifelong learning - working on my PhD. How knowledge has been used, historically - to keep people back, push others forward, is an example of its importance. We cannot know everything, but we can make a dent into some areas and see the importance of a subject in some way to our lives. I like to have a balance life and some subjects can be used as a stepping stone to another discipline in latter years, or to attain a better score on a test, etc. As we attempt a subject or problem, as long as we have variety and a great attitude, we will appreciate the value of the subject.
