NBCOT (or the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) offers two separate exams: one for Registered Occupational Therapists (OTR) and another for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA). Both exams are administered on a computer and last four hours (five hours 15 minutes including administrative procedures), but the material on them differs substantially. If you are experiencing difficulty in your NBCOT prep, Varsity Tutors can refer you to a knowledgeable tutor who can help.

NBCOT tutoring is a flexible approach to learning that may be adapted to your individual needs. If you are an auditory learner, your tutor may give a lecture to help reinforce what you need to know. If you are a visual learner, your NBCOT tutor may instead incorporate visual aids to make concepts easier to picture in your mind. Your tutor can also take the time to get to know you, allowing them to incorporate your interests wherever possible to make study sessions more engaging. Working with an NBCOT tutor also allows you to learn at your own pace. If you have a particularly tough time with one of the areas above, you may concentrate on it during study sessions until it starts to click. Your tutor is also available to answer any questions you have, ensuring that you can get a timely response.
