I consider it a privilege that I have been a teacher for 25 years! It is my passion to see students succeed! I have degrees from Point Loma Nazarene College: B.A. Child Development, M.A. Special Education, and credentials in Learning Handicapped and Elementary Education K-8th. I have taught in the San Diego and Murrieta California School Districts, in both general education and special education settings with ages 3-14. In my career, I have worked with students that are below grade-level standards and students that are above grade-level standards. For a student that is not meeting their potential, I have assessed their learning style and developed a strategic learning path for that student to succeed. Engaging students in their learning process is vital for success. I have also taught private violin and viola for fun!

When not at work my hobbies include a wide range of activities; from playing instruments, reading, biking, hiking, and camping! Family and friends come first in my life and will often determine where my husband and I will go on our next adventure! I have traveled often throughout the U.S. I have been in all 50 states except 2, including many National Parks! Overseas trips are a learning experience that never grows old! I have traveled to Haiti several times this past year, to Uganda a few times in the last 10 years, to Mexico the last 30 years, and hopefully to Nepal this fall!
