I had an argumentative nature in my approach to understanding the meaning of life. As human beings tend to do, I attributed meaning to and constantly analyzed society and human behavior. Although I possessed other talents, it was not long before I became aware of my ability to eloquently apply logic as a means of assessing debatable scenarios. I have also learned that there is also gray subject matter that is not always categorized in a definitive way. Although I am able to draw inferences from my past experiences, I learned that outcomes are not always literal. I appreciate how law is not like a mechanical or mathematical process. As I debunk the limitless possibilities of the world, I am more certain of my confidence to effectively represent a client in the court of law. Although many may attest to their pursuit of pre-law at a collegial level, not many can relate to the experience in partaking in debates in mock trials within mock courtrooms, and the dismantling of case briefs in my high school, The Bronx School for Law, Government, and Justice. I was admitted the first year that news reporters televised our first day of school in a new building, a dream brought to fruition by David C. Banks.

Although I am appreciative of the dignitaries, government officials, and civil servants who work to serve the public, unfortunately I have become increasingly aware of the injustices that are done to many people, albeit marginalized or privileged bourgeoisie, groups or individual victims, armed or unarmed, black or white. As a brief telephone interviewer and a communications studies bachelor recipient, I was able to learn how to be persuasive, to listen and respond to prospective clients efficiently, and to hone my emotional intelligence skills in interpersonal communication settings. Although I can be of influence in the court of law, generally I would prefer to take the necessary measures to avoid legal action, as I am grateful of a worthy compromise, and the value of the dollar of the working class. In fact, had it not been for the cost of living, I would be delighted to research the law and legal doctrines, serving as a resource to victims of illegal acts, pro bono. I had intentions on taking the necessary measures to be more receptive to all that is entailed in the educational experience of law, while tailoring it to match my pre-existing educational background. I am going to learn Italian to translate the terminology that is applicable to the field of law. I attended graduate school prior to my pursuit of law school, where I received acknowledgement for outstanding achievement in the field of urban studies.
I would like to specify my desired field in land use so that I can possibly experience politics as an urban planner and advocate for geographically efficient methods of zoning establishments, despite the historical redlining of neighborhoods, the discriminatory lending practices of financial institutions, the displacement caused by gentrification, white flight, the bankruptcy and corruption of primarily black neighborhoods, and the harsh realities of trickle-down economics. The most applicable concepts of zoning law, or real estate or land use law are eminent domain, which may be similarly compared to nimbyism (not in my backyard). I am used to gauging the desires of the community and serving the needs and wants of societies as a whole. As a former political canvasser, I raised funds for green non-profit organizations for recycling and water preservation initiatives in Massachusetts. I am truly appreciative of the resourceful environment in which we cohabitate and tend to take advantage of. I like to conserve and to help with philanthropic methods of uplifting neighborhoods. I believe I would certainly excel in consistently conducting town hall meetings, developing unbiased and confrontationally, open-ended questions, and addressing the needs of the masses for the social betterment of communities. I transcribed the twenty interviews that I narrated in my thesis. Interviewees consisted of political figures, community board and district leaders, federal intervention program employees, and staff members of institutional political science or urban studies departments. I would be an unending privilege to educate myself about the rights to which I am entitled, and to hone that approach within such a prestigious institution of higher learning.
