Certified Tutor

I love teaching and helping students achieve their educational goals. Its important to me that all students feel they have the ability to reach their highest potential. Tutoring is a way to help ensure that students who need extra help are getting the support that they need. I graduated from Niagara University with a bachelors degree in Secondary Special Education in 2007 and earned my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2011. I have been a Special Education teacher in both middle schools and high schools for the past 10 years. In that time, I have worked in two different states (Nevada and New York) and four different school districts. I have taught all four core subjects and have worked with both general education students and students with disabilities. In my career, I have also tutored in person and online. I believe that my wide range of experiences has prepared me well to assist students of all ability levels. I am currently tutoring Math (Middle School, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I) and Social Studies (World History, American History). My first love has always been Social Studies, but over my career, I have spent most of my time teaching 7th and 9th grade Math. My teaching philosophy and tutoring style are both centered on individualization. I believe that every student can be successful when instruction is tailored to their specific needs. My goal is always to get to know my students well enough to successfully individualize their instruction. In my spare time I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
