What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that the tutor should do everything in their power to help their students learn any difficult concepts. It is important for the tutor to assist the students in different ways according to different learning styles. I believe that tutoring should be a fun, helpful, and rewarding experience for the students.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I think it is important to get to know the student on the first session. You should find out about their interests, likes and dislikes, etc. You should also make an effort to introduce yourself to the student to become personable and credible to them. After a brief introduction, you should begin to cover the material and make every effort to learn about the student's strengths and weaknesses with subject matter and learning style. You want to immediately show the student that tutoring can be rewarding and valuable.
