Cynthia
Certified Tutor
I received my bachelor's and master's in business administration from the University of the Incarnate Word where I am currently a doctoral student in business administration. I have a certification in business education and experience in tutoring one-on-one and in small groups in math, accounting, accounting software (QuickBooks, Peachtree and LOGOS), business management, Spanish (speaking and writing), and English as a second language.
My tutoring objective is to foster critical thinking skills, facilitate the acquisition of lifelong learning skills, develop the learner's problem-solving strategies, and prepare learners by providing them with strategies that will help them presently and in the future. I believe that most learning occurs in situations that are both meaningful and realistic; my goal in tutoring is to help learners where they are challenged and provide strategies that are customized to their strengths.
When I am not working on my dissertation or tutoring, I enjoy going to the beach, driving through the hill country, hiking, camping, fishing, road trips to state parks, soccer, music, and travel.
