Certified Tutor

I love working with students of all ages and helping them master subjects that once seemed difficult. I am great at connecting with students of all ages and from all walks of life, helping them reach their highest potentials.I am both American and British and was brought up in Europe. I can bring my international experiences as well as my tutoring and teaching training to the table.

In high school, I not only graduated with distinction from the International School of Geneva but I also obtained a Bilingual International Baccalaureate Diploma. Before attending Middlebury College, I worked in an English primary and high school in Geneva, Switzerland in an international environment. During my time there, I taught French to beginners and Mathematics as a replacement teacher. Following this, I replaced a music teacher. My confidence grew through these experiences as I was challenged to discipline and teach classes of 20 students, some of whom were only a few years younger than myself. I won the students' trust and respect and classes ran smoothly. During this time, I also tutored a student who was struggling with learning difficulties and explained specific points to him, practiced with him and trained him throughout the process on an individual basis although I have no formal training in this field.

I have knowledge of the PSAT and SAT as I took both as part of my college application process. Furthermore, I followed the SAT prep tests online but also took personalized courses to prepare further for the exams.

While in college, my love for teaching and assisting other students did not stop. I became a Peer Writing and Language Tutor and mainly worked with students on French grammar, pronunciation, spelling and paper structure. I was also a writing tutor in my senior year. Thus, throughout my college career, I benefited from teaching both American and international students as they helped me look at the languages I know and my own writing style in a new light. When I went on a semester abroad to Paris, I reached out to a volunteer group to help children in need of extra academic assistance and tutored students in Geography, Math, Science and English. This particular experience was extremely beneficial as I learnt how French students are taught and expanded my knowledge of education worldwide.

Since then, I have taught students in and around New York City in a variety of subject and look forward to meeting you and working with you!
