Certified Tutor

I am a current undergraduate student at the City University of New York Baruch College and am working towards a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science with a focus in Economics and Communication. I am an honors student and will also be receiving a secondary degree from the Macaulay Honors College. I have tutored several middle and high school students in Algebra, Calculus, Economics, and SAT Preparation. Many of my students have gone on to do well on the New York State Regents Exams, AP Exams, and SAT and ACT Exams. I am most passionate and enthusiastic about teaching Math because I love how organized and formulaic it is. I have always loved tutoring students because I enjoy seeing them improve in subjects they have previously struggled with.

I understand that each student has their own strengths and weaknesses and that some subjects may not be for everyone. This being said, I admit that I used to dislike Math a great deal but I was fortunate to have excellent Math teachers who inspired me and instilled my passion for Math. It is my hope that I can inspire my students in the same way I have been inspired. I would describe my tutoring method as very patient and organized. I always try to understand what the student's strengths and weaknesses are and then go from there. I explain each step carefully and then allow the student to eventually try more difficult topics on their own once I have helped them understand the concepts they need to know. I encourage a great deal of practice and organization to help clarify any problem areas the student might have.

Other than academia, I enjoy reading, playing sports, and exercising. I have been an avid reader since I was very young and always try to read as much as I can because it is relaxing, enjoyable, and beneficial. I try to stay active with sports and exercise because it helps relieve stress and is also very fun. I enjoy competing in sports, especially with friends, particularly in basketball and football.
