I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Saabit

Certified Tutor

I am a student at the University of Toronto looking to pursue a double major in Math and Computer Science. As a result, I mainly tutor high school and elementary Mathematics and Computer Science. I am very passionate about Computer Science having pursued it at a very young age. In high school I was a part of my local robotics team, and competed in my FRC robotics competition as a programming team lead. I participated in the Waterloo Canadian Computing Contest (CCC) and the Waterloo math contests for years throughout my highschool. In my 12th year I was able to score among the top 25% of contestants in the CCC. As someone who has studied Mathematics and Computer Science for years, I understand how challenging and frustrating these subjects can be for beginners to understand, and as a tutor I am determined to make sure students are prepared to overcome these hurdles to the best of my ability. Outside of academia my interests include, watching the NBA, One Piece and music. My teaching philosophy is that students learn best when lead by example. You show the student a few good examples of how to solve challenging problems and as long as you instill confidence and believe in them, they will be able to tackle most challenges coming their way.
