I love helping students of all ages learn. One of the best things about teaching is seeing the "light go on" when a student is learning something new or particularly challenging to them. Those "Aha!" moments are what drive and energize me. I have worked with students most of my life, starting as a babysitter, then becoming a Youth Director, and finally becoming a full-time professional teacher in 2001.

When I realized I wanted to teach, I took additional education courses at Pasco-Hernando State College, Saint Leo University, and Florida Southern College, then became a certified professional educator. I recently completed my master's degree in Vocal Performance at the University of North Florida.
I am certified to teach in Florida and Georgia with subject area endorsements in Music K-12, English 6-12, ESOL K-12, and Elementary Education PreK-3. I tutor English, Literature, Grammar, Test Preparation, Music, Music Theory, and Microsoft Office (including Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook), among other subjects.

My teaching philosophy is to connect with the student as a person first and foremost, then approach learning in an individualized and personalized strategy. While some rules and methodologies are consistent within curricula, there is no "one-size-fits-all" technique for learning. I am gifted at finding the right approach for each student to help them learn the best.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading and listening to audiobooks, playing the guitar and ukulele, enjoying time with my husband, pets, extended family, cooking, and singing. You can also find me on my phone. I like playing games, posting on social media, watching YouTube, or reading about current events.
