I have experience extensive mentoring experience in my capacity as International Baccalaureate (IB) Program Mentor at cole Secondaire Catholique St. Frre Andr, Biology director at UofT CO-OP Student Association, mentor in LMPeer (UofT) and mentor in RASI COS (UofT). I believe that students come from different backgrounds and carry with them their own experiences, skills, and abilities which other students can benefit from within the classroom. I believe that students need to feel safe, cared for, and valued within the classroom, in order for them to be able to achieve their maximum potential. Students come to the classroom with their own unique strengths and challenges, which adds to the learning community within the classroom. I also believe that each and every one of us a unique set of gifts, which sets us apart from everyone else around us. As a teacher, it is my role to help student gain confidence in their abilities, and offer them a stimulating and supportive environment to help them overcome their academic struggles through tutoring while also promoting self-encouragement and self-motivation.
