I am currently a student at Wilfrid Laurier University. My current goal is to either become a High School Chemistry teacher or to specialize and enter the analytical chemistry discipline in my field.
I enjoy tutoring students and I want to help facilitate learning by using simplified concepts and easy to understand instruction. Rather than just teaching, I like to take a more engaging approach. I like to work on problems together. Rather than me purely lecturing, I like to give my students practice problems that we can both work on. I will have them attempt the problem on their own while giving hints to nudge them in the right direction. It's easy to give an answer, but to have a deeper understanding of something, it's better to guide a student to the answer. This method may take a bit longer, but it is worth it because once you get to the answer, you will understand why you got there.
