Certified Tutor

I am a late bloomer, attending graduate school in my fifties. The advantage of my age in teaching English and composition is I have the benefit of a lifetime of learning experiences including working an executive job, tutoring high school and university students, managing workplace training, teaching ESL, and having worked for over 20 years as a professional business writer and editor, training other writers. Teaching is a big responsibility, and I am honoured to have an allotted time with students. I make the most of it by being as engaging as possible. While I like to create a warm, fun, and nurturing environment, at the same time, I want students to learn concrete, measurable skills, and I expect them to work hard. I do not have a "sink or swim" attitude toward students. If they sink, I will jump in after them. My success is their success. I have a BA in English and am finishing an MA in English and Creative Writing (Aug 2022) + 20 years of experience working as a business writer and editor.
