I am passionate about scientific discovery and for simplifying the complexity of science to a level that we can test a hypothesis. The training of young trainees is very gratifying and more so if they can be passionate about what you are passionate about. My teaching philosophy is to try to educate my students to understand cell signaling to related clinical characteristic to molecular changes. I hope they will get a better appreciation for the complexity of science and be able to begin to understand abnormality. I have had 13 years of university level teaching experience in Canada and the US.
In addition to teaching, I have had significant research, student teaching/advising and faculty development as well as industry experiences over the past 25 years as a graduate student at the University of Alberta, post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Cancer Research UK, as a faculty member at the University of Alberta and as a development scientist for DynaLIFE Medical Labs (Edmonton, Canada) and for HealthyLIFE Diagnostics (San Jose, CA). I have had over 25 years of experiences in designing, implementing, analyzing and publishing scientific research projects at all levels.
I have a detailed understanding of biology, immunology, molecular genetics, thesis writing and excelled at high school sciences completing my high school in 2 years.

I have an interest in playing and watching hockey, watching football and listening to various genre of music from Elvis Presely to Imagine Dragons. I enjoy science fiction movies and enjoy learning and reading books from individuals that have been inspirational enough to have made a difference.
