David
Certified Tutor
Hello. My name is David. I come from a family of educators. My passion is helping students succeed.
Having served in the military, I have worked with a wide range of age groups across our country. I have worked with students in reading, writing, basic math, and history. As an associate faculty member for Park University and the University of Phoenix, my background also covers working with adult learners.
For me, education is about helping someone discover new things for themselves and then have them teach and share with others. I believe knowledge is not limited by age or ability, but rather the curiosity to know more.
I am a lifelong learner. Whether it's formal education like completing my Masters' degree in 2018 or successfully passing my Real Estate exam for the State of Texas in 2021. Learning never stops. I recently took up gardening and learned about different plants, the types of soil they need, and the right amount of sunlight they need so they won't dry up in the Texas heat.
My educational background includes two associate degrees, a Bachelor's in English, a Master's in Human Resource Development, and a Master's in Education. I have also taken numerous courses in photography, web design, business management, typography, curriculum/Design and financial planning.
My favorite subjects to tutor are history and writing. I believe they fit very well together. When you understand history's impact on the present and can express it in a way to get noticed, you have created a powerful outlet for change. That brings me to this closing quote
"A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history." - Mahatma Gandhi
