I am a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Major in History Teaching and a minor in English Teaching. I taught U.S. History and Utah State History, as well as 7-9th grade Reading and Language Arts for a cumulative 3 years. I am currently applying to Kansas University to begin a MSE in Curriculum and Instructional Design.

I tutor Reading, Writing, and History because I am very passionate about those subjects. I truly believe that "history" is a "story" and love connecting books with history.

I have always believed that my life's mission is to be a teacher. Seeing the lightbulb go off above a student's head is one of the best things I experience. I believe when given the right opportunities and strategies, a student's potential is limitless. I always try to incorporate students' interests into academia.

Outside of teaching, I love to read, run, and explore our town with my two young kids.

Hobbies

Reading is my favorite pastime - I always have a book on me. Fantasy adventure and historical fiction are my favorite genres. Although, I also love reading history books about medieval times and the Tudor Dynasty as well. I also love to run - I'm not a competitive or fast runner, but I love running on trails. I love exploring trails and nature parks with my kids. I'm a huge MCU fan - Doctor Strange is my favorite. I love fantasy and sci-fi. Basically, all the fandoms (Harry Potter, LOTR, Star Wars).
