I'm passionate about education. I can't wait to meet your student and find out their unique learning style, and help them find the fun in learning! I have a BA in English and Creative Writing from Salem College, where I worked as a paid tutor in the Center for Women Writers. I also have an MFA in Creative Producing. I love working with students to improve their reading comprehension, ESL language mastery, and creative writing. I also have experience subbing for K-5th grades.
I also teach film production and film studies! In 2018, I created a local to me program called Girls and Production, teaching high school students film theory as well as hands on filmmaking skills. We learned about story development, scriptwriting, women's role in the film industry, the male gaze, and more! It was so much fun and the students loved participating in the program. Due to COVID, that program has closed, but I am still developing curriculum and working online with individual students. It's one of my passion projects! I also teach undergraduate film and videography classes at our local community college.
I'm eager to get started with your student and help them succeed in whatever subject they are having difficulty in. I'm happy to be a Varsity Tutor!
