After a 25-year career in Human Resources, I am passionate about giving back to students that want to further their careers in HR as so many have done for me along the way. I received my Bachelor's degree in Human Resources from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master's in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga.

I have held the HRCI SPHR certification since 2000 and the SHRM-SCP certification since it's inception in 2015. I have chosen to test for recertification voluntarily over the years to test my knowledge and maintain confidence in my skills and abilities. More recently I have chosen to track my 60 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) to maintain both certifications. I am a strong believer in the value of HR certification and encourage anyone that is serious about pursuing HR as a career to obtain one or both of the widely recognized certifications as they attest to a person's wide body of HR knowledge.
