I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Communication Studies from Concordia University, Montreal. I am pursuing a Master's degree in History Education from University of Massachusetts, Boston and will attain my Master's degree by December, 2020.
I have taught as a substitute teacher, an after-school teacher/camp counselor, and a student teacher for students in elementary, middle, and high school in the Boston area. I have planned units and lessons for my middle school History classes and taught them as a lead teacher for three months during my 2019-2020 teaching residency.
I tutor subjects as diverse as Spanish, English Language Arts, History, and use of the music software Logic Pro X. My favorite subjects to tutor are English Language Arts and History, because I have always been passionate about building strong reading comprehension and writing skills, creatively applying rules of written English, and analyzing interesting historical events. I am a huge trivia fan, and I am always working to ensure I use new facts about English and Social Studies in my teaching. Did you know Bangladesh has a higher population than Russia?
My hobbies include drawing, going to the beach, creative writing, and playing the piano.
MY OBJECTIVE
To patiently bring my passion for education to my tutoring work, to engage my students in a challenging and respectful learning environment where every student is expected to learn at a high standard to develop as a responsible citizen, and to guide my students' technological learning by promoting pride in digital self-expression. To stick with every one of my students and reinforce their knowledge until they experience consistent and considerable academic improvement.
