I have been officially teaching in the New Jersey school system for 5 years. I started in Jersey City, then Newark, and I'm now in Linden and loving it. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and now I am teaching 4th grade mathematics only due to our district departmentalizing.
I graduated from the University of Tampa with a B.A in Sociology and to be honest I still had no idea what to do with my life until I was offered the amazing opportunity to teach English for one year in South Korea. I jumped on it and realized that teaching was for me. I finally felt like I was living my life with purpose and doing something positive. As soon as I returned I enrolled in the graduate teaching program at NJCU and completed that in two years with a 4.0 GPA. . During that time, I also received my Yoga teaching training certification with a specialized focus on kid/teen yoga and the positive effects it brings to the school environment. Additionally, during my grad years, I volunteered as a literacy tutor at the Jersey City Public Library.
While in Korea, I began a pen pal program between my Korean students and students here in NJ to promote cultural awareness as well as promoting a fun opportunity to practice their English skills.

My classes during ALL my years of teaching in New Jersey have excelled in reading and writing and outperformed all other classes in the same grade level, not only on standardized tests but it's through Classroom achievements performance and his maturity levels. I have an enormous amount of resources to help the students who are struggling in the specific area and I am always up-to-date on the best practices and latest strategies. I have an extensive portfolio with data to back up everything that I have stated here and would be happy to bring it with me to meet you and your family and I can also provide at least 10 references who are former parents I've worked with work colleagues or supervisors. I genuinely care about my students and their progress and I do all that I can to make sure that I am helping them in the best way possible please feel free to reach out with any other questions you may have for me.
