Teaching has been my passion although I have had professional experiences in other fields. I have been a classroom English teacher at the middle and high school levels, and I have worked with college level students on writing, thesis development and literature analysis. I especially enjoy helping students write clearly and persuasively, and to ensure that their basic skills --vocabulary and grammar-- are well developed. I like to help students to think about big ideas and to explore their meanings and implications. I have travelled to many countries throughout world and enjoy meeting and working with students of different ethnicities and cultures. I recently worked online with a student from Ghana who wrote a book about African hair styles. I have helped students in Switzerland, China and Brazil prepare for the English sections of various standardized tests. I remain in touch with many of my students and I am delighted when I see that they have succeeded academically.
