I am a passionate audiophile with a very eclectic music taste, with a concentration in classical music. I grew up in Normandie, France and also in Code d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). I have resided in France, the UK, Germany and in the USA since 1996. I have worked in sales management most of my career.
I am now a dual French/USA citizen. I enjoy French culture very much and love to share that passion with others.

Provide multiple examples.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Getting to know them, their areas of interests, and their objectives in hiring a tutor.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Try to relate the subject to something they like or can relate to.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
Illustrate with concrete examples, related if possible to the student's interests.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
Repeat, repeat, repeat.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
Asking questions, in writing or verbally.

By asking him/her questions.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
It depends. French children books for basic levels, more advanced ones otherwise. Songs or podcasts from French radio stations.
