My fundamental philosophy in teaching is to foster an environment that encourages kids to learn effectively. Every student's learning experience is unique, and every student consumes knowledge differently. Keeping that in mind, it is important to stay flexible with my teaching approaches to suit the student I am helping. I want to help students reach their short-term academic goals as well as their long-term goals. The types of materials I use during a tutoring session depends greatly on the subject I teach as well as the student I am teaching. Worksheets, mini presentations, flashcards, and booklets are only a few of the materials I use.
