The last 30 years my life have revolved around physics and science in general. I've always had a very hands-on approach, and I feel it should be the same for teaching and learning. Just memorizing formulas and numbers is challenging at best. However, if you learn the real principles, and how they apply to the real world then science and physics is fun. Part of my career has literally been to make science fiction concepts reality or prove with physics and science why they can't be done. I hope I can bring my experience in space missions, in oceanography, in nanotechnology, in robotics and make physics and math something that a student wants to learn, not just has to learn for a test.
