My name is Ketaki and I come from a beautiful town in India.I am a civil engineer by education but a teacher at core.I have helped many a students to clear their concepts in the subject math, which is more often a dreaded one. It gives me immense satisfaction to see students come out and overcome their dislike of the subject and start enjoying it.I have always felt that having knowledge is a different thing and imparting it is essential to the learning process.I think I have that ability to impart it in a manner so that it is easily understandable.I hope to reach more and more children in need and help them enjoy the subject.
My hobbies include listening to soulful music ,taking long walks all by myself and enjoying quality time with my kids. I love to travel and would like to go around the world and visit places.

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to mentor the students so that they gain confidence in the subject and hence in everything they do. I try to reach to their level of understanding and then start to fix the things.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

我将try to become familiar with his weakness in the subject. I would try to make him comfortable about it, so that he feels free to talk about the difficulties he is facing in understanding the concepts. And then, we would devise a plan on how to go about tackling his problems.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

First, assess them. Where they falter, I'd clear their doubts. Then, I'd do a good amount of questions covering all the concepts, and then give them questions and see how they do on them. Soon enough, they would be on their own.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

By telling him that he is not the only one. Everyone faces difficulty, and the key is to keep motivated and working towards the goal. By applauding them for their good work.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

By asking them to read it aloud. And make them understand that a problem is mostly solved if it is understood correctly. Once they read it aloud, we can assess where exactly they are faltering.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

By making them comfortable, motivating them, appreciating them for the good work and diligence they show, and respecting them above all. By being very clear in explaining the concept to them.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

By going to the root level of the cause of dissent, and by clearly explaining the concept and making them realize that it was not as difficult as it seemed.
