I am a recent graduate of the University of Vermont where I received my B.S. in Mathematics with minors in Economics, Computer Science and Physics. Throughout my time in college, I was a very active tutor with experience as a teaching assistant as well. I worked for the Math department to provide support for students in lower level classes and feedback on assignments to address any misunderstandings. I was a teaching assistant for the Economics department where I held office hours, one-on-one meetings and review sessions to meet with students and help them grasp the concepts. I also created helpful problem sets and visualizations. I worked for the university learning coop as a tutor where I was paired with students in middle level mathematics courses.
In addition, I spent a few semesters volunteering with a local organization that works with middle to high school aged students as a tutor in the areas of science and mathematics.
My teaching style changes depending on the student, but I am very logical and visually oriented. I always draw a visual whenever I start a problem if I think it will help me get understand, and I think this mentality really helps those that I tutor as well.
When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy being outside, playing sports (especially soccer!), board games, eating, and traveling/exploring.
