I graduated from Barnard College with a degree in English and writing. I took a wide range of classes, specializing in literature and both creative and academic writing. All throughout college I worked with students at various ages and levels, helping them succeed in school. After graduating, I spent two years teaching 3rd and 4th grade in Detroit. I absolutely loved working with my students in the classroom! As a teacher, I feel that a strong rapport with a student is essential to quality learning. I believe that a thorough education is a basic human right. In my spare time, I love to read (poetry, fiction, essays), write, explore new places, and cook new recipes.
