Certified Tutor

我目前加州大学的一位ornia, Riverside. I am a future graduate of the class of 2014 as a Pre-Medical B.S. Applied Mathematics (Biology Concentration) Major. In terms of tutoring experience, I began tutoring as a junior and senior in high school because at that age I felt proficient in the subject of math. I would work with the school and tutor lower-classmen in various subjects of mathematics. Subjects include Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus AB. My abilities were not limited to only high school students; I would tutor students at my old elementary school and grade school (K-8) as well, in the subjects of Pre-algebra and Algebra. Today, I am able to tutor students in a slightly larger range of mathematics classes, with the addition of Differential Equations, Multivariable Calculus, and Physics. My teaching philosophy and tutoring style would be centralized around giving students a good foundation in their respective subjects. Given a solid foundation of the fundamentals, learning and piecing together new information and concepts becomes easier for the student. While learning, I believe small mental breaks are important in order to retain information, and mentally prepare for the following information. During these small breaks, I attempt to converse with them on topics outside of academics, such as hobbies, interests, current events etc.; so this way, I can try to build a more personal relationship with them. I believe it's important for students to feel comfortable with their tutor. I want them to have the comfort level to ask me anything, regardless if it pertains to academics, or insightful personal advice. Outside of academia, my interests and hobbies include competitive sports, such as basketball, swimming. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, snowboarding, listening and making music, writing poetry and a healthy fitness lifestyle. I am very open-minded, and always open to new things.
