Certified Tutor

I am a third-year law student at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder. In my second year, I worked as a teaching assistant to a first-year legal writing course. Before attending law school, I taught 7th grade reading and writing where my preps included special education and English as a Second Language. I attended Texas A&M University and was a certified Level 3 CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) writing tutor. I tutored undergraduate, masters program, and doctoral students in writing across varying subjects. I was also a teaching assistant for a senior-level business writing course and did free-lance dissertation editing with the little free time I had left.

While most of my teaching and tutoring experience has been in reading and writing, my degree is in Finance, so I am comfortable tutoring various math levels as well. However, I am most passionate about reading and writing. I truly enjoy working with students of all ages and backgrounds, but I am particularly fond of middle school students. I also have a knack for working well with students who are unmotivated, have behavioral issues, and/or lack discipline--I love a challenge. I am a firm believer in high expectations and that with a little patience and determination, all students can excel. When I am not busy with class work, I enjoy reading, watching football, and traveling. I also enjoy volunteering in classrooms throughout the community.
