Certified Tutor
I am currently a Junior at the University of Colorado Boulder triple majoring in Physics, Math, and Music. I've been tutoring for three years on subjects ranging from AP Literature to Abstract Algebra and Differential Equations. In these three years I've learned some very important lessons about how we learn and what students most often have difficulty with in the classroom; foremost among these lessons is the need to understand where a student is coming from and remember what it was like to learn these subjects for the first time. Generally, my focus is on helping students understand the concepts and master the thought processes that lead to the right answer, rather than using rote memorization or oversimplified practice.
My favorite subjects to tutor are Math and Physics, particularly Calculus (whose elegance made me love math again), but I'm happy to help with practically any high school class (the exceptions being History classes), test prep, or collegiate Math/Physics courses.
In my free time I like to explore Boulder (especially at night), try my hand at various forms of art (most recently videography), and enjoy the company of my friends.
