2022 by Jaida - December 2022 Scholarship Essay

2022 was the foundation of the empire I will build in 2023. I am beyond grateful for the lessons I have learned in 2022 because not only did they open my eyes, but shaped me into becoming the person I want to be as well. I learned that it’s okay to not be okay, but it’s not okay to stay that way! Mental health has been the biggest lesson of my year because a lot of people stay silent about their mental health. I’ve learned to not let anything stress me out to the point everything feels unbearable. Another huge lesson I learned is that it is okay to take your own path to avoid the traffic. I am happy that I learned that I don’t need anyone in my life that’s not meant for me. I’d rather walk this path alone than to let snakes walk it alongside me. The last lesson I learned this year is to continue to work hard toward my dreams and continue to use my voice. Hard work pays off so I’ll continue to work hard now so I won’t have to later! My voice is powerful and I will continue to use it to address issues that I’m not comfortable with. I will constantly use these lessons in 2023 to become the amazing person I know I am destined to be!
