Education is defined as "the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university", but to me it is so much more. I believe that education is a path to success. Education is important to the growth of a person because it helps broaden their understanding of how things shape and influence the world. It shapes us a person from who we are to what we can do. Receiving higher education is something that has been engraved in me since I was little. It has been the focus of many conversations from, "What do you want to do when you grow up" to "Where do you want to go to college."
Education is the foundation of our lives. Every technological and scientific advance has been the result of learning and building on that as a foundation to create new ideas. Our life is guided by these ideas and innovations. All of the conveniences integrated in our lives that people take for granted shows the complexity of our world and how ingrained education is in our world. It is something that not everyone has had the opportunity to pursue, both in the past and even now. I would use the privilege of gaining a higher education to pursue my goals and help others in any way possible so that I can see others use their education to go further in life and do the same for others.
