Education is the key to discovery, and teachers should act as a guides towards their student's self-discovery. Tutoring is an amazing way to connect with students and relate their educational experiences to the real world. I see test preparation as a key that can open doors and I love to work with students of all ages to help them gain more opportunities and motivate them to read, write, and think!

I am a 9th grade history teacher and have been in education for six years. I have taught or tutored students in history, English, ESL, writing, and other humanities subjects. I love to work with students of all ages, from kindergarten through high school.

Q & A

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

Getting a student engaged in the subjects they're learning is key. I always try to find a way to relate the topic back to the student and draw connections between the student's interests and the learning material. When the curriculum is relevant to a student, they can better understand why they're studying it and will be more motivated to learn.
