I currently live in New York, NY, where I am a student at the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College, CUNY. I double major in film and English with a concentration in creative writing. I am very passionate about learning and love to read as often as I can. I like to extend my passion for knowledge to the students I tutor in the hopes that they too will find how enriching it can be to embrace their studies and expand their minds.

My biggest interests lie in literature and film, as evidenced by my majors, and I have known from a young age that I would like to write a book someday. In addition to these, I am devoted to the arts, the study of foreign languages, and travel. I spend a large amount of time frequenting museums, art galleries, operas, and concerts. I love to learn about linguistics and the nuances of foreign languages. I am currently studying French, though I have studied Latin and Italian in the past. Travel is also of importance to me, and I feel strongly about exploring cultures that are different from my own. I have studied abroad in Barcelona as well as independently traveled to England, France, and Italy.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Communication. When a student doesn't understand a concept, it is because that concept hasn't been communicated to them properly. I hope to find ways of communicating that will demystify complicated topics for my students.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

跟我一个典型的第一次会议将开始与ten to fifteen minutes of informal conversation. There is nothing to be gained from working with a student who doesn't feel as though they can have an open conversation with me.
