我记得幼儿园。玩积木，手被胶水粘，在操场上跑来跑去;那是一个与我现在所经历的完全不同的时代。填写奖学金表格，申请大学，努力在AP课程上取得好成绩。然而，无论什么时候，当时还是现在，我一直有一个不变的想法:成为一名医生。当我的其他幼儿园同学在他们的快乐和玩耍的乐园里时，我偶尔会上维基百科，以了解更多关于我未来想做什么的信息。我在那个臭名昭著的消息来源上看到的东西远远超出了我的理解;尽管如此，我还是找到了其他方法来获取这方面的知识。我问我的父母他们是否有两个肾(记住我是幼儿园的孩子)。他们都慢慢地点点头，问我为什么。 They were both startled to know that I already knew what I wanted to become, and they proceeded to tell me that I have all the time in the world. The source from which I derived this morbidly realistic dream for a kindergartener was in St. Louis. I was at my uncle's house in Chesterfield, and I watched him be bothered at a dinner party by annoying, pestering guests who had medical curiousities that couldn't wait to be satisfied with a doctor's order. He didn't seem at all bothered, on the contrary he was thrilled to be able to help with whatever they needed from him. Other guests became uncomfortable as my uncle began looking at new patient's genetic defects, and overdone sunburns, but he maintained his composure and aptly treated all who came for help.This is the reason I knew from such an early age that I wanted to become a doctor. The major I intend to choose at the University of Kansas is biology. I am interested in sciences, and I know that this choice is a stepping stone to medical school, and then finally achieving my goal of realizing a career as a helpful, well-respected doctor.
