Hello, my name is Yara Ajeeb, and I'm an English tutor.
As an immigrant who's first language isn't English, I understand the struggles students face when obtaining a new language. My hope is to facilitate a language to students and allow them to have a strong comprehension which will help them in their careers and education.
I have a TESOL certificate, a DEC in Arts and Literature from Dawson College, and I'm currently in an undergraduate program at Concordia University. I'm majoring in English Literature with a minor in French Studies.
I teach English for all levels, and English for non-native speakers. I'm interested in teaching how to write at an academic/professional level in English.
I've been tutoring for around three years, and my teaching philosophy highlights the student's own comprehensive ability. I think to learn a language, one must be engaged in the cultural realm. My classes will be animated, dynamic and comprehensive.
I hope to introduce the beauty of the English language and its versatility to my students!

I'm interested in digital art and have been working on starting my own online store. Also, one of my passions is writing, so I'm constantly working on various projects and stories. One of my projects is titled "Rebirth," and it's a memoir about my immigration experience. Another project I've been working on is a translation of a non-fiction work regarding time theory.
