Im looking to share my experiences working in Japan with those eager to learn a new language, discover an unknown culture or just anyone interested in a new hobby! After spending the last 15 years working as an English instructor in Japan, I returned to America and hope to continue teaching. My first introduction to Japanese began in High School and quickly grew into my main focus academically. In 2003 I was part of the National Japan Bowl, placing first locally (Houston) and was able to attend the finals in our nations capital. Through college I was able to visit Japan many times and even instruct during my stay. Upon graduation, I moved to Japan and began teaching English through various government programs and private learning centers called "Eikaiwa". My students ranged from young to old, all walks of life each with different experiences and goals. I believe all teaching begins with the individual and connections we make as people, learning what works best for each situation and environment. I enjoy teaching Japanese and make it my mission as an instructor to create an enjoyable experience for you too. Fun and effective, this is how I think any learning experience should be. Learning a new language is exciting, challenging and can open you to a whole new realm of possibilities. Lets speak Japanese!
