Certified Tutor

I have been a teacher for twenty-one years. I have taught first grade for four years, second grade for two years, third grade for twelve years, and fourth grade for three years.

I hold a Master of Education with a major in curriculum and instruction. I am dedicated to individualizing appropriate educational plans for each of my students. Holding students to high standards of achievement, tempered by patience and consistency, have made me a successful and seasoned educator. Through hard work, dedication, and team-based collaboration with my colleagues, I sincerely believe that all students can be successful learners. I am highly experienced with tailoring education to students with diverse backgrounds and helping them reach academic excellence through encouraging their individual best effort and helping them reach their potential. Creating curriculum has provided me a varied and deep breadth of knowledge in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies. My substantial experience as a math leader has afforded me ample opportunities to differentiate lessons, intervene with at-risk students, and develop new curricula to align with Common Core (CC).

For the last twenty-one years, I have provided effective classroom management, creative lesson planning and implementation, detailed student evaluations, and valuable data analysis. I am experienced with preparing students in third and fourth grades to be highly efficient on their standardized tests. In fact, I hold a record for having the highest state test scores in my county for three consecutive years in math and science. I am eager to continue working with students and dedicating my time and expertise to helping students develop their skills and a love for lifelong learning.
