Certified Tutor

To begin: We are all students, and we are all teachers. And let me add - I love to teach. Watching the 'light bulb' go on revs me up for the rest of the day. Knowing that I have helped a student feel confident in their abilities is my reward.

Over a long and (very) varied nursing career, some of my best memories have been working with students, whether formally at the community college level, as a preceptor of new grads at the bedside, or as a manager.

My goals as a tutor are: to identify your strengths and maximize them, identify your deficits and fix them, and help you gain the confidence you need to succeed. You already have all the tools you need - we will work together to locate them, sharpen them, and use them to your best advantage.

I think the most important teaching tools are patience, perseverance, and humor - and some chocolate, when necessary - but most important, I believe very strongly that students know what they need - and I promise to listen.
