Certified Tutor

I am a certified professional private tutor with over 30 years of experience acquired in the United States and Europe. I provide tutoring and I also teach personalized courses in the listed subjects.
I commute to homes, corporate offices, and libraries; however, students are also welcome in my well-equipped private school-office in Grapevine; my schedule has various openings weekly between 7am-10pm.
Regarding my credentials, I am certified and very experienced in teaching English, French, Italian, and Romanian; these are the 4 languages I grew up with, then studied at the university and employed in my corporate and translation jobs in Europe. My certifications in teaching other subjects are derived from my Master's degree in International Affairs and Business.
For the past 30 years, I have taught personalized courses in the U.S. (since 1999) and in Europe. I have also taught and tested diplomats at Inlingua School in Washington D.C. where I specialized in immersion training -- a method that ensures functional language skills in record time.
My tutoring classes are personalized to fit the requirements, age group, and capabilities of each student (to date, my oldest students have been 75, my youngest 3 years old, with all the age groups in between). Before going to grad school, I scored 100% in my GRE/SAT English tests; my GPA is 4/4 for the BA and 3.4/4 for the MA. I have always loved taking exams and teaching English for all test prep goals. My students have increased their grades from the 20%-50s% to the 90%-100% with only 4 hours of intensive-immersion focused on tips and shortcuts to easy comprehension. In my career, I have successfully provided test prep to corporate students as well as high school, elementary school, and preschool students.

Currently, I offer online and face-to-face lessons and courses to students of all age groups, in the following subjects:

ENGLISH (college/native level)
My BA major is in English with a minor in Philology. Despite what some refer to as "a slight foreign accent" in my speech, in many American contexts my English vocabulary was proven superior on account of my skills in Latin languages (considering the Latin etymology of most English words on the SAT/GRE Vocabulary lists); moreover, I translated American and British novels which required perfect grammar -- and was a simultaneous interpreter for years. I tutor and teach AP English Literature and Composition; SAT Test Prep; SSAT, PSAT, and ISEE; STAAR test prep; TOEFL, IELTS, and ILR (governmental) tests. My ESL/ESOL course has helped many students overcome their cultural barriers. In STAAR and SAT test preparation, the immersion curricula I offer will provide gap-filling and in-depth training: Grammar, Reading, Writing basics, Elementary school preparation, Reading Comprehension, Critical Reading, Creative Writing, Vocabulary, Literary Analysis, Essays Writing, Public Speaking, and Literature.

FRENCH and ITALIAN Immersion courses (college/native levels)
My French and Italian accents are native-like because I grew up in a French-speaking family, lived in Italy, worked for French and Italian companies, and have travelled often in these countries. I was a tutor and teacher of French, Italian, and English, and translated novels in Europe before becoming a U.S. citizen in 1997. Immersion language training ensures the fastest learning process because it covers not only speaking skills, but also listening comprehension; it includes French/Italian TV sources, movies, literature, songs, media, books, etc. I tutor for AP French, AP Italian, and teach a Travelers' course for conversational skills. My courses also help corporate students acquire functional language skills fast. We can focus on the standard language or on any French or Italian regional dialects.

ROMANIAN (college/native level)
I was born in Romania and grew up learning Romanian along with other languages; my BA minor is in Romanian Language and Culture; I studied Romanian Literature and Grammar at the University of Bucharest, Romania. If required, my lessons can be designed to focus on Moldovan (a Romanian dialect spoken in the Republic of Moldova).

I am certified in teaching English to students diagnosed with Dyslexia and ADD -- ADHD; in such cases, I employ European methods.
