I am a recently retired physician with abundant experience teaching before and after my career in medicine.
I taught pre-college students for 12 years and earned my MS in education before leaving for medical school. My concentration was in middle school and high school math and science. Later, as I prepared to leave medicine, I returned to my love for teaching as adjunct professor of Anatomy/Physiology and Microbiology at St Petersburg College helping students achieve their ambition of entering medical school by working with them in the lecture, lab, and one-on-one MCAT prep sessions.
I hope to use the skills acquired from many levels of experience to bring you to the peak of your natural abilities and ace your tests whether they be classroom exams or standardized tests
I try to teach in ways that involve creativity and fun.
I don't look at this only as a tedious, by -the-book instructional lesson. Lets enjoy ourselves and smile as we increase our knowledge of the subjects and tasks at hand.

What is your teaching philosophy?
During my early years as a teacher I was involved with middle school students. I learned the best approach was to avoid forcing them to memorize answers to questions they never asked in the first place. I was most successful when I stimulated their curiosity about a particular concept and facilitated their exploration in a lab-based inquiry driven approach. My years as a physician have taught me the importance of diagnosing the problem, and then designing a treatment plan that will bring the student to optimal performance level allowing him/her to gain the confidence needed to succeed in life.
