Throughout my life I have always valued education and the opportunities it creates. I first started tutoring during my sophomore year of undergrad for the Equal Opportunity Program at Buffalo State. Helping others has always been a passion of mine. I tutor mathematics and physics, both of which I will finishing bachelors degrees in this coming fall semester.
In my free time I enjoy doing yoga and gardening. I also enjoy traveling and exploring the world. So far I have explored most of Europe while studying abroad in Manchester, England.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I belief in teaching concepts rather than memorizing problems. In mathematics this is very important because test problems can differ greatly from practice but as long as the student fully understands the concepts then they can handle any problem given to them. I also belief that every student is capable of succeeding with hard work and an inspirational educator.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Typically in a first session with a student I will begin with an assessment to gauge their skill set and problem areas for future sessions. I will then start to review the most foundational concept the student is having trouble with. Starting with the most foundational concept is important because math is all about building on the material and using prior ideas.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I help students stay motivated by being encouraging. I also offer progress reports so the student can easily track their improvement, which is extremely motivating. Learning is fun when you have an enthusiastic educator that keeps the student engaged.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
