As a former director of a Writing Center and current academic enthusiast, I love tutoring and helping students succeed. I am studying Environmental Geoscience, and I also worked for the student magazine at Utah State University as a journalist. I love science and English in particular, but my tutoring skills include many subjects. My personal hobbies are rock climbing, hiking, and playing the fiddle! My time availability differs weekly with a preference for weekday evenings, but I am flexible with scheduling.
My style adapts to each student, but it's best to have something to work with in a tutoring session, such as an essay or assignment or study guide to lead the way. For test preparation, we can use online materials, or I recommend useful products for you to purchase for use in tutoring sessions. I strive for success and growth through my tutoring. I am willing to meet at a university, or public places like coffee shops.

What is your teaching philosophy?
我的教学理念是encourage critical thinking through carefully guided questions and suggestions. I will help students walk through the steps or processes being studied to gain a deeper understanding of the material. My teaching philosophy also focuses on the essentials of the subject, with emphasis on material that will help the student succeed in their course.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical first session with a student, I will introduce myself and try to learn about the student. I will ask specific questions about what the student is seeking in a tutor, what subjects will be covered, and what the student needs to learn. Then if time allows, I will jump right in so we can adapt to one another and see what the best style of tutoring is for the student.
