I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, literature, and history. I find I connect best with my students because we find ourselves sharing a love of music, books, and amazing TV shows. I also love the theater and am always excited to impart a love of same.

I graduated Carnegie Mellon University and since then I have worked in publishing in one form or another. I was there when the first Harry Potter novel rolled off the presses. I have met numerous authors and actors and love sharing their wisdom. I look forward to working with you!

What is your teaching philosophy?

关于英语,我认为没有wrong answer, just different ways to express the right one. With regard to History, if you remember that the people in history were people just like you, with faults and dreams, you can go a great deal further.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would ask the following questions: Do you like to read? If so, what? What is your favorite TV show, movie, or story? I get to know the student and find out what will best help me to teach them.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

By suggesting reading and writing prompts.
