Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of the University of Denver. I received my B.A. in Anthropology, focusing on archaeology. Since graduation, I have provided childcare and tutoring services in the Denver Metro area, as well as participated in archaeological research in Georgia, Italy, New York, and California. I also have previous tutoring experience as an National Honor Society officer, as well as offering tutoring services to my undergraduate peers. I tutor a broad range of subject areas but am particularly passionate about writing, reading, and history. I also love to teach study skills, test preparation, and organizational strategies.
As a gifted student, I have always learned at a different pace and understood topics in different ways than my peers. I understand the need for individualized learning, whether that is due to high academic achievement, non-traditional learning styles, or trouble with a particular subject. As a tutor, I foster a can-do attitude in all my students. Everyone is capable of learning; you just need to learn the specific strategies and explanations that work for you. I strive to instill strong study skills, a sense of creative problem solving, and self-reliance. As opposed to looking for others to give or guide them to the answers, I work with my students to create and practice techniques that lead them to the solutions, giving them confidence and encouraging a love for learning. In my spare time, I love reading non-fiction, exploring my passion for photography, and doing a variety of fitness activities including running and yoga.
