After graduating from High School, I lived in Germany for two years performing service. There, I learned about German culture and became fluent in the language. Later, I attended Brigham Young University where I obtained two degrees: a B.A. in German Studies and a B.A. in Comparative Literature. For part of my study as an undergraduate, I resided in Berlin where I attended classes at local schools and performed research. At the end of my undergraduate education, I worked in Brussels, Belgium as an office assistant and political adviser in the European Parliament. Upon my return to the United States, I worked for several years as a professional German translator and managed many other translators for a professional translation service.
I left that position to attend law school at Washington University School of Law. I was admitted to the Law School because of my strong GPA and LSAT score. To achieve a high LSAT score, I practiced the LSAT relentlesslytaking every former exam until I achieved an acceptable score. In Law School, I sharpened my research and writing skills. I even drafted briefs to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
I love teaching and taught many subjects throughout my life. While at Brigham Young University, I taught several advanced German courses, writing courses, and individual students. For several years I taught students English abroad through online platforms; my clients ranged from elementary school students to corporate executives. Finally, for several years I was the primary LSAT preparation instructor at Washington University in St. Louis where I taught many students several of whom went on to attend such schools as New York University School of Law, Harvard Law School, and University of Chicago Law School.
