Latin Tutoring review by Natalie in Vancouver
在这个sat会话,我们花了半个侯r working math problems slowly and thinking about them critically, asking after an answer was derived whether the problem could have been solved more directly and quickly. After analyzing a critical reading passage and reviewing some vocabulary terms, the student wrote an essay in 23 minutes and we scored it. He understands the ways to structure the essay exceedingly well! We'll focus on making more concrete the details of examples he chooses to incorporate into his argument as well as strengthening his vocabulary.

He took another ACT English section of the test because that was his weakest area, and we went over his answers and why questions were correct or incorrect. We took apart the grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure of each question piece by piece. We will finish reviewing the test next session.

The student and I continued to work on stoichiometry for his make-up exam this week. He is doing a better job organizing his work and has pretty much stopped forgetting important steps in the middle. We worked on problems involving mass, volume and moles, so he should be ready for the test.

Student had prepared much of lines beforehand and there was noticeable improvement already in her ability to handle to increasingly complex (and now not always rule-following) grammar of the text.

Latin Tutoring review by Andrew in Vancouver
This session, we started out reviewing first nominal declension and then some of the verb conjugations. The student actually remembered quite a bit of the paradigms, especially as we got further into it. After reviewing these for a while, and going over how the perfect passive is formed in some depth, we moved on to doing some translation. I picked a review passage from the end of the first book of Ecce Romani. As we read, I tried to get him to get more used to how to find the verb in a sentence, and to pick that verb apart for its tense and person and what not.
